2022 Shenzhen–Hong Kong–Macao University Qualifier Awards Ceremony

On the morning of November 16, 2022, the awards ceremony for the Shenzhen–Hong Kong–Macao University Qualifier of the 14th China Shenzhen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the 4th Shenzhen Virtual University Park Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held at Shenzhen Zhongzhou Shengtingyuan Hotel. Officials from Guangdong's science and technology department, Shenzhen Municipal Government, the municipal talent bureau and science and technology innovation commission, member institutions of Shenzhen Virtual University Park and prominent companies attended.

Shenzhen Deputy Secretary-General Li Zhuowen stated that Shenzhen Virtual University Park is a major initiative to implement the science-and-technology powerhouse strategy and build a technological innovation system, and China's first innovative industry–university–research demonstration base. Shenzhen will continue supporting its development, integrating industrial, innovation, education and talent chains and encouraging universities to participate, jointly advancing national strength in education, science and technology, and talent.

Building on the previous year's qualifier, the Chinese University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Research Institute joined universities in Hong Kong and Macao, including its parent university, mainland university institutes, representative entrepreneurship organizations and leading Greater Bay Area innovation organizations. In 2022, 232 enterprises/projects registered, with nearly 275 PhDs and professors from domestic and overseas universities participating; Hong Kong and Macao ventures accounted for 39%. After multiple competitive rounds, 20 projects won first, second and third prizes across enterprise and team categories: two first prizes, six second prizes and twelve third prizes.
