Clearance Monitoring
Clearance Monitoring

IMon-B300 Clearance Monitoring Data Acquisition Unit

The laser clearance monitoring radar is a LiDAR device that monitors blade-tip clearance in real time. When clearance approaches the specified minimum, the turbine's main controller can immediately reduce speed or feather the blades. On existing turbines, it helps prevent tower strikes and remove power restrictions on at-risk units, increasing generation. On future turbines, it can help reduce blade costs and ease turbine design constraints.

To meet wind turbine tower-clearance monitoring requirements and improve application suitability, data reliability and environmental adaptability, the product combines three-beam ranging with dedicated algorithms. Functions include filtering strong sunlight, rain, snow and dust interference; identifying localized fog interference; and detecting dense fog. A high laser pulse repetition rate and high-throughput computing platform improve valid-data rates, reduce false alarms and maintain real-time performance, helping turbine controllers respond quickly without unnecessary generation losses.

Technical Advantages

LiDAR Monitoring System
Core principle: Dense laser beams are emitted toward the target area to calculate precise distances and angles to obstacles and construct a high-precision model.
Vision-Only Monitoring System
Core principle: High-definition cameras capture video images. Advanced computer vision and deep learning algorithms identify objects and calculate their positions and distances.
Video and Millimeter-Wave Radar Fusion Monitoring System
Core principle: Data fusion combines visual sensors and millimeter-wave radar. Radar measures distance and speed accurately regardless of lighting; video supplies visual appearance, object classification and supplementary localization. The two complement each other.
