Main Shaft Displacement Monitoring System

The system uses non-contact laser displacement sensors for high-precision, all-weather online wind turbine main-shaft monitoring. Laser triangulation captures shaft end-face positions in real time. Signal processing, edge computing and intelligent analytics provide continuous posture monitoring, anomaly alarms and trend prediction. Long measurement range, fast response and resistance to oil contamination and weak electromagnetic interference make the sensors particularly suitable for high-power turbines with large clearances in harsh environments. High reliability, adaptability and easy installation and maintenance support a transition from reactive to predictive maintenance, reducing unplanned downtime and improving efficiency and service life.

Monitoring Challenges

Insufficient Accuracy Prevents Early Detection of Minor Faults
Insufficient Accuracy Prevents Early Detection of Minor Faults
Abnormal main-shaft displacement typically deteriorates gradually. Traditional inductive or ordinary displacement sensors lack the accuracy to capture tiny changes. By the time clear abnormalities appear, faults may already be in middle-to-late stages, risking severe damage to the shaft, gearbox and main bearings and missing opportunities for early intervention.
Weak Interference Immunity Limits Operation in Harsh Environments
Weak Interference Immunity Limits Operation in Harsh Environments
Traditional contact sensors are affected by oil and dust deposits, causing signal distortion. Weak electromagnetic immunity leaves them vulnerable to nacelle interference, resulting in false data and false or missed alarms.
Difficult Installation and Maintenance and Limited Compatibility
Difficult Installation and Maintenance and Limited Compatibility
Traditional sensors impose demanding installation requirements and may require shaft or bearing-housing modifications, consuming time and labor and disrupting operation. In older turbines, incompatible shaft dimensions or limited space can prevent deployment. Calibration and maintenance require specialists, often working at height in nacelles or towers, increasing difficulty, risk and replacement costs, particularly for remote offshore O&M.

Product Advantages

Accurate Measurement

High-precision laser displacement sensors capture micrometer-level movement, accurately reflecting shaft condition and enabling early fault warning.

Super strong environmental adaptation

Non-contact laser sensors resist oil, dust and strong electromagnetic interference and operate stably from −40°C to 70°C in high humidity and salt fog, supporting onshore and offshore wind farms.

Simple Installation

Sensors install easily without major shaft or bearing-housing modifications, minimizing disruption, installation time and downtime across turbine models.
