Blade Monitoring System

Dedicated sensors provide comprehensive blade monitoring. The system detects ice thickness in real time and guides turbine start/stop decisions, preventing impacts and unbalanced dynamic loads from ice shedding. It also precisely monitors early internal structural damage, surface cracking, fracture, lightning damage and localized surface erosion to protect operation and prevent blade failures from escalating.

Two Monitoring Solutions:

Triaxial Vibration Monitoring: Triaxial MEMS accelerometers acquire blade vibration, temperature and other data. Edge computing and AI diagnosis provide uninterrupted 24/7 online blade monitoring.

Fiber Bragg Grating Monitoring: ISen-L series products measure FBG sensor wavelengths corresponding to temperature, strain, acceleration and other parameters. Fast, high-precision interrogation supports long-term health monitoring such as wind turbine blade load measurement.

Monitoring Challenges

Manual Inspection Is Inefficient and Risky
Manual Inspection Is Inefficient and Risky
Traditional tower-climbing and drone inspections depend on personnel. Work at height is hazardous, and rain, snow, typhoons and darkness limit coverage. Long inspection intervals can miss the best opportunity to address early defects.
Delayed Defect Detection Causes Severe Losses
Delayed Defect Detection Causes Severe Losses
Hidden microcracks and internal debonding are difficult to see. If they progress to fracture or tower strikes, losses can exceed RMB 1 million per turbine and may require shutdown of the entire wind farm.
Persistently High O&M Costs
Persistently High O&M Costs
Untargeted scheduled inspections cause excessive maintenance, while missed defects multiply repair costs and increase expenses for work at height and lifting equipment.
Fragmented Data Prevents Life Prediction
Fragmented Data Prevents Life Prediction
Without continuous data, accumulated blade fatigue cannot be quantified and remaining life is difficult to assess, leaving aging-turbine retrofits and new-turbine O&M without evidence.

Product Advantages

Real-Time Online, All-Weather Monitoring

Continuously collects blade vibration signals 24 hours a day to track operation and provide early anomaly detection and warning.

Precise Identification for Each Blade

Independently monitors each blade to locate faults and identify their types, including cracks, looseness, unbalance and resonance.

Fast, Non-Destructive Installation

Adhesive mounting requires no blade drilling and preserves structural strength.
From Scheduled Maintenance to Predictive Maintenance

Vibration trends and life assessment optimize maintenance plans, reduce unplanned downtime and lower O&M costs and safety risks.
Seamless Integration and Graded Warnings

Compatible with wind farm SCADA and intelligent O&M platforms, with graded alarms delivered through apps, SMS and large-screen displays.
